3-D Board Tutorial

now available

As I've gotten more and more into my lathe work, the cutting boards have taken the back seat. I'm open to custom orders, but I don't have any new boards in the mill right now. I do intend to display some of my lathe work for sale one of these days. Stay tuned.

Click on the thumbnail pictures below to see a bigger picture.

Although I'm not set up for online ordering, feel free to contact me via e-mail if you're interested in a cutting board one like of the boards shown below and we'll work out the details. Higher-resolution pictures are also available on request.

Priority Mail shipping to anywhere in the U.S. is $10. If you live outside the U.S. let's talk.

Sun Tree #2
Curly Maple, with Purple Heart, Cherry and Walnut accents, and Walnut and Padauk inlay

This is a special board crafted in a team effort with Laser Image Arts in Melbourne Florida.. Although the inlaid side is not really practical for use as a cutting board, it's great for serving, and if you really need to cut something on it, there's always the back side. (Although it's so pretty, I doubt you'll do a lot of cutting there, either.)

Kokopelli #1
Dark Birdseye Maple, with Purple Heart, Cherry and Walnut accents, and Padauk inlay

This is another of the special boards created with major help from Laser Image Arts in Melbourne Florida. Since the laser is used to cut both the inlay and the recess it is placed in, the fit is as close to perfect as wood allows.

This is another very striking board made of special wood that's sure to get attention wherever it's displayed.

3-D Board #1
Walnut and Yellow Heart, with Satine accents

This is the first of my 3-D boards, and it's sure to start a conversation anywhere you show or use it.

Maple and Walnut #2
Satine and Cherry accents

The rich walnut contrasts nicely with the curly maple. This board would go well with darker kitchen cabinets.

Two-Tone Maple #3
Satine and Yellow Heart accents

The darker maple is a rich honey color, and the figure in the grain is exceptional in this board. A little pricier, but the wood is worth it.

Sooner or later I'll get some of my turned pieces listed for sale here. Until then, let me know if you see something here you'd like to purchase.
